I first met Joanne Chok when I attended the inaugural installation of Cowie Bay Mandarin Toastmasters Club where she is a member. After that I was a judge in her club speech contest where she was one of the contestants. She speaks well!

When she became the Club President, she invited me to her club's speech marathon! She made me the General Evaluator. At the end of the function, I gave my comments and offered some tips on public speaking. Her members loved it.

That was when I invited her to speak for the World Speech Day and of course she did not reject my invitation!

Joanne Chok spoke on the stateless children in Tawau where she is involved in such a voluntary work. Her speech title was 转化生命，由你我开始 or Changing Life, Begin with us!
