The organizer Lee Chye Ewe with the speakers

World Speech Day Malaysia 2017 ended in high note! 22 speakers of all ages and professions took the stage to share their views, thoughts and ideas on how to make this world a better world for all of us.

The World Speech Day Malaysia 2017 was organized by Mr Lee Chye Ewe together with Charis International School Gavel Club where he is the Club's counselor. Mr Lee is also a multi-lingual speaker and trainer. The World Speech Day was held at the auditorium of Charis International School in Tawau.

This is the second time that Tawau is hosting the World Speech Day simultaneously with more than 80 other countries around the world. Tawau made history last year for being the first and only in Malaysia that hosted the World Speech Day.

The World Speech Day Malaysia 2017 witnesses the public taking a more strong interests in speech making and sharing of ideas for a better world. The number of speakers requested to speak has increased tremendously so much so that some speakers have to be turned away due to time limitation. They however made earlier request to speak for the same event next year.

Audience and supporters too came in from far and near to witness yet another historical event. There were also more than a thousand viewers watching the event live on which was broadcast through Facebook.

In his closing remarks, Mr Lee congratulated all the speakers for taking the courage to be on world stage. He said the experience especially for young speakers was a confidence booster which would help in the later part of their lives.

He also thanked the speakers who have taken leave from work, traveled from far and near to share their views. Such passion and commitment to World Speech Day is certainly commendable!

Mr Lee also thanked Charis International School for offering its auditorium where the World Speech Day was held. He also thanked Datuk Dr Mary Yap, the Member of Parliament for Tawau for her kind and generous sponsorship which has helped to make the event possible. Datuk Mary who is also the Higher Education Deputy Minister and a former English teacher has always encouraged healthy activities such as the World Speech Day.

Mr Lee was very pleased with the support received from the audience at the event as well as those who were watching through live streaming. He is most positive that with the support shown that our world will be a better world!
